Saturday 23rd October March 2010. 10.30 am to 4.30 pm at Kangaroo in East Sussex (just outside of Lewes). The price of the workshop includes materials, tea, coffee and lunch plus 10% discount on purchases made during the day.
Freeform knitting uses knitting (and crochet if you wish) to create motifs of colour and texture. The pieces of free form knitting can also be tacked onto canvas and stitched using a variety of techniques to blend the pieces from knitting to canvas work.
When choosing yarns you may find it helpful to work to a colour theme, or work from the colours in a postcard/picture etc. As well as traditional knitting yarns you can also use embroidery threads and tapestry wools.
You will need:
· Yarns to work with – the thickness of the yarn is not too important, lots of colours and textured yarns work well, some yarn will be provided but please bring any stash you would like to use up.
· Knitting needles (and crochet hooks) suitable for the yarns you have chosen. (It can be useful to work with short needles or circulars as you only have a few stitches on the needles at any one time)
· Scissors
· Pen and paper to make notes
