| Crochet for beginners workshop with Jane Crowfoot 10/09/08 Learn to Crochet This workshop is aimed at those wanting to learn the art of crochet and those wanting a ‘reminder’. Participants will be shown how to hold the yarn and hook, how to create a chain and how to work a foundation row into the chain. Once these techniques have been mastered participants will be shown how to work a ‘double’ a ‘treble’ and a ‘slip stitch’. | Professional finishing techniques workshop with Jane Crowfoot 01/10/08 The workshop aims to give participants the chance to learn the most commonly used techniques to achieve a perfect garment. We will begin with basics, i.e. different ways of casting on, how to achieve an even and correct tension and different methods of shaping the knitted fabric. We will go on to cover picking up stitches around necklines, short row shaping, grafting stitches, button holes and finally sewing up techniques such as mattress stitch. | Fun with crochet workshop with Jane Crowfoot 12/11/08 This class is for those who would like to experiment with different stitches and yarn. Participants will be shown how to crochet spirals in order to create a scarf or frill edge for a garment. They will also be shown how to work in the round to create a pretty flower or corsage. Some may wish to concentrate on producing crochet lace trims or begin to make a lattice belt. Participants are asked to bring along a selection of crochet hooks, plus any special yarns from their stash that they may like to use or swap. Some yarn will be provided.
